Health
The effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of palliative care for babies, children and young people: A systematic literature review
Aims
-
To define and summarise existing evidence on the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of CYP palliative care, including potential scalability
- To identify gaps in evidence that may be addressed through future PRU research
Methods
-
Data sources: National and international evidence on effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, costs and healthcare utilisation for interventions in CYP palliative care will be sourced, through database searching, grey literature and drawing on experts in the field.
- Analysis: A systematic literature review. An evidence briefing will be developed summarising the main findings.
Impact
- The evidence briefing will provide a summary of evidence on the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of CYP palliative care to inform government policymaking and spending.
- The analysis will enable identification of evidence gaps for future core or rapid research on a comprehensive cost evaluation of PEOLC services.
Project status: Ongoing
