Wargaming Network (WN)
The Wargaming Network (WN) within the School of Security Studies aims to advance the theory and application of wargaming as a method of inquiry and as a method of learning and teaching. The WN builds on a rich history of King’s wargaming activities and serves as a hub for the growing community of King’s students and staff studying, researching and applying wargames and simulations. It seeks to engage and convene world-class wargaming scholars, practitioners and emerging talent.
During 2018-2019, the Wargaming Network will convene three types of external events:
A public lecture series to examine fundamental challenges for adapting wargaming theory and practice to usefully address contemporary security problems facing the UK and its allies;
Workshops to further the application of wargaming to understand strategic competition and modern deterrence, and to develop wargaming as an academic discipline;
Gaming events for partner organisations hosted at King’s for education and research purposes.
