About the Institution
EWHA Womans University was the first education institute for Korean women, founded in 1886. From a cohort of just 15 students in 1910, EWHA Womans University now has more than 20,000 students studying on its campus in the heart of Seoul. EWHA has always been a global pioneer in leading the era. Beginning with a single student in 1886, EWHA has expanded women’s potential for over a century, and now stands at the very forefront of future innovation. The EWHA International Summer College (EISC) has been offering summer programmes for students from around the world since 1971. Every summer the EISC offers a comprehensive academic programme accompanied with diverse cultural activities and field trips so help students immerse in Korean culture.
Who can apply?
The EWHA University International Summer College (EISC) is open to undergraduate and postgraduate taught students only. Postgraduate research students are excluded from this offer.
Courses offered
The EISC offers two sessions to cater to different interests and needs of students and these are as follows: Session 1 offers the following: Academic courses taught in English Korean language classes Field trips and cultural activities On-campus housing at EWHA's I-House EWHA peace buddy Please note students can choose two courses for session 1. Session 2 offers the following: Introductory Korean Studies Special lectures on various topics Cultural activities and optional 1 night 2 day trip On-campus housing at EWHA's I-House Both courses offer academic courses taught in English. Application deadlines
If you wish to apply for a place at EWHA University International Summer College, you will need to submit your Global Summer Exchange application by 11:59pm on Sunday 16th February 2026. If your application is successful, you will be required to apply directly to EWHA University International Summer College, by the following dates: Session 1: Friday 15th May 2026 23:59 KST Session 2: Thursday 25th June 2026 23:59 KST Please note: This is a FIRM deadline - the online application site will automatically close after the deadline and further applications will not be accepted.
What are the costs?
The cost to attend EWHA University International Summer College in 2026 is as follows: Session 1: Housing Fee: 850,000 KRW (Double) / 1,300,000 KRW (Single) Field Trip Fee: TBC Session 2: Housing Fee: 730,000 KRW (Double) / 1,100,000 KRW (Single) Field Trip Fee: TBD Students who are successful in their application will receive a tuition fee waiver, but will be responsible for all other costs, including, flights, accommodation, visas, health/medical insurance (if compulsory), living expenses and those listed above.
Accommodation
On-campus and off-campus accommodation is available and students may apply for housing from within their EISC application. Students who are unable to secure a room at the I-House or who do not wish to use the on-campus dormitory for any reason may opt to reside off-campus. Please note that it is the student's responsibility to find and secure their room should they choose this option. The following is a link to a housing rental site for international students. The EISC does not have any official affiliation with off-campus accommodation. Please see links below for more information. Please note: If a single room or other arrangements are required for disability support, staff at EWHA will request a single room from the dormitory and ask for any additional support as needed.
Eligibility, Exclusions & Restrictions
Undergraduate or graduate students currently enrolled at an accredited university or college (minimum cumulative GPA: 2.0/4.0). All international students who do not possess a passport issued by the Republic of Korea must obtain a visa or apply for a K-ETA (visa waiver) before entering Korea.
