Humboldt Universität

About the Institution

Founded in 1810 as Berlin University, the Humboldt-Universität is now named after its founder, and is situated in the heart of Berlin, about 500 metres from the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, Berlin Cathedral, the State Opera House, and the world-famous Pergamon Museum. In its immediate surroundings are several theatres, the shopping areas in the Friedrichstraße, the 'old' centres of Berlin nightlife in Kreuzberg (for West Berlin) and Prenzlauer Berg (East Berlin), and the new heart of Berlin's nightlife, the Potsdamer Platz and Friedrichshain. The Humboldt is one of King's Circle U. partners - for more information please see the King's Circle U. webpages.
