These measures apply to all inbound students, including those currently at NTU and future incoming cohorts, such as students on semester exchange, fee-paying study abroad, summer programmes, and visiting research attachments. Students MUST abide by Singapore’s laws on vaping and substance abuse during their stay at NTU. National and University penalties will apply to students found vaping, whether on or off-campus, including: Disciplinary action: • Inbound international students found in possession of e-vaporisers will have their e-vaporisers seized and be issued a fine (officially known as a Notice of Composition). Individuals caught for repeat vaping offences will face more severe penalties. • Those caught possessing or using etomidate e-vaporisers or who test positive for etomidate may have their Student Pass or immigration privileges revoked, and may be deported and banned from re-entering Singapore. • Students who commit vape-related offences will also be immediately terminated from the exchange, fee-paying or visiting programme, even as first-time offenders. In addition, they will be barred from applying to any of NTU’s inbound programmes in future, including semester exchange, summer programmes, and visiting research attachments.
