About the Institution

Founded in 1898, Peking University (or PKU) was originally known as the Imperial University of Peking. It was the first national university covering comprehensive disciplines in China, and ever since has been one of China's top universities. It is currently one of the top 30 universities worldwide and home to approximately 49,000 students, 15% of which are international. The university has been crucial to China's modernization, and maintains that it has retained a traditional emphasis on patriotism, progress and science. The campus, known as "Yan Yuan"(the garden of Yan), is situated at Haidian District in the western suburb of Beijing, near the Yuanmingyuan Garden and the Summer Palace. King's has three exchange agreements with Peking University, which include a College-wide exchange, a specific exchange between King's Business School and the Guanghua School of Management and a Summer School exchange.
