About the Institution

Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA) has a rich history reaching back to 1339 when it was established by Humbert II of Viennois. Today, it is one of the biggest universities in France, with around 60,000 students and over 3000 professors and researchers. It is frequently ranked among the top universities in France and offers a wide range of courses across many disciplines. UGA is situated on several sites in Grenoble, with the main campus in the district Saint-Martin-d'Hères being recognised as one of the most beautiful in France. Grenoble itself is known as the “Capital of the Alps” and boasts a unique range of opportunities for exchange students.
