About the Institution

Lyon is located in east-central France and is the capital of the Rhone-Alpes region. It is the third-largest French city (with a population of approximately 1,783,400), it is a major centre of business and fashion and it has a reputation as being the French capital of gastronomy and having a significant role in the history of cinema. The city is also known for its historical and architectural landmarks and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The University of Lyon is a hub for higher education and research and comprises three main campuses and three grand ecoles. Universite Lumiere Lyon II is a 19th-century neoclassical campus, located along the Rhone in central Lyon and boasting some 30,000 students. Its affiliate, the Institut d'Etudes Politiques (IEP), is located next to the Musee de la Resistance in Bron, which is served directly by tram from the city centre.

Campus allocation

Most lectures are at Portes des Alpes at Licence/BA Level, although some "electives" may be taken at Berges du Rhone. IEP students will be near the Berges du Rhone Campus, right in the centre of town.
