Training & development
Students will, with their supervisor, draw up a personalised programme of training that will allow them to complete their research project and provide the skills they will need in their subsequent career. Ongoing research training needs are assessed throughout the programme.
Such training will include courses provided by the Department, the School of Security Studies, the King's Doctoral College, or the LISS-DTP.
Help and support
King's College London provides a broad range of services and resources to maintain your health and wellbeing. These exist to provide advice for everyday issues, to empower you to maximise your wellbeing, as well as to help in times of more serious difficulty.
As a doctoral student your first point of contact for help and support will be your supervisory team. Every faculty also has a Faculty Wellbeing Advisor who can offer one-to-one wellbeing appointments and signpost you to the extensive specialist services available to you. These include the Counselling and Mental Health Team, the Disability Support and Inclusion Team, our multi-faith Chaplaincy, as well support and advice relating to money, housing, and visa status.
