Research Talent includes both the Centre for Doctoral Studies and Centre for Research Staff Development. We work closely with external training providers in order to provide researcher training programmes. Working with trainers means that individuals external to King's will run events on our behalf. To facilitate this, we have a set of policies covering conduct, data sharing, and the external trainer agreement.
The information on this page relates specifically to training and events adminstered by departments within Research Talent. This suppliments relevant King's policies which can be found in the Governance Zone.
We may share your personal data with external trainers to facilitate the running of the course.
The training provider may be an individual or an organisation. The provider is listed at the point of registration on Skillsforge or equivalent platform.
We may share your registration details including personal data: your name, faculty, department, and occasionally your King’s email address.
So that the training provider knows who to expect in the training session and to allow them to tailor the course to the context of the participants attending.
We have an agreement with each training provider which safeguards your data. This includes using your data for only the purpose specified above, handling and storing your data securely, and only for the time-period required.
If you would like to contact us to discuss data sharing, please contact the course organiser:
We have an agreement with each trainer that we work with to specify the services to be provided and to ensure data processing takes place in the manner required. This is known as the External Trainer Agreement and can be accessed below.
During the lockdown period we have supported external trainers in the move to online delivery. Information outlining the support offered can be accessed on the below webpage.
Information related to accessibility can be found on the Accessibility Support pages.
Research Talent is dedicated to the provision of a welcoming, safe and productive environment for all who attend our events.
We encourage critical discussion provided it is carried out in a respectful manner that encourages and places equal value on the views, perspectives and experiences of other conference participants.
Please read and follow our Research Talent Code of Conduct in full.
Reporting: If you are being harassed or notice that someone else is being harassed or you have any other concerns, you should contact the course organiser via their email. They will take immediate steps to address the situation and, if appropriate, escalate the matter, help with the preparation of a written report and collection of details relating to any incident.
