Courses are divided into modules. Over the course of your study you will take modules totalling to 180 credits.

Required modules

Full-time students on this course are required to take:

  • Advanced Topics in Clinical Psychotherapy (30 credits)
  • Biological, Cognitive and Developmental Processes, Research Design and Methods (30 credits)
  • Developmental, Individual Differences, Social and Cultural Processes (30 credits)
  • Research Dissertation (60 credits)

Part-time students on this course are required to take:

Year 1

You will be taught through a mixture of lectures, seminars and tutorials. The rest of your time will be spent on self-study, including reading, research and writing assignments, as well as work on your research dissertation under supervision of your thesis supervisor.

Our course is primarily taught at King’s College London Denmark Hill Campus. The location of optional clinical placements is variable but may include, among other options, the following placements:

  • Home Treatment Team
  • Mentalization Based Treatment Service
  • Neuropsychiatry Service
  • Psychiatry Liaison and Clinical Health Psychology
  • Primary Care Mental Health Team
  • Self-Harm Outpatients Service

Assessment
