Selection Process

Personal statement and supporting information

You will be asked to submit the following documents in order for your application to be considered:

Personal Statement

Yes

A personal statement is required.

Your personal statement is one of the many factors in the overall assessment of your application. We are looking particularly for evidence of appropriate commitment to, and realistic appreciation of, the academic physical and emotional demands of an accelerated masters degree programme and career in ultrasound. We would normally expect that you will have undertaken some work experience and/or observation in clinical setting.

Communication skills and the ability to work successfully in a team are of great importance. Your interests, achievements and contribution to your community are considered in addition to academic ability. We aim to ensure that all of our students can display those professional qualities, skills and attitudes that help to make competent and caring ultrasound practitioners. If you are already working in a healthcare setting, we expect a professional reference relating to this.

NOTE: When applying on the King's Apply portal, the personal statement must be input directly into the personal statement box (no more than 4,000 characters). Do not attach a separate personal statement document – attached documents will not be considered.

Previous Academic Study

Yes

A copy (or copies) of your official academic transcript(s), showing the subjects studied and marks obtained. If you have already completed your degree, copies of your official degree certificate will also be required. Applicants with academic documents issued in a language other than English, will need to submit both the original and official translation of their documents.

Please also give your A-level (or equivalent qualification) results (school/college; date; subject; grade).

References

Yes

Two references are required. Your application will be strongest if you can provide both academic and professional references.

Other

Optional

You may wish to include a CV (Resume) or evidence of professional registration as part of your application.
