Teaching methods - what to expect
Programme modules are delivered over 3 consecutive days each month, held over the first 7 months of the course. The teaching blocks include face-to-face lectures, seminars, and hands-on workshops, which require advance reading and preparation, as well as self-study outside the teaching blocks. Some group and self-directed activities must be completed outside of seminar sessions. Typically, one credit equates to 10 hours of work.
Most students start with the postgraduate certificate; all modules begin in September and students complete the Postgraduate Certificate over a period of 9-12 months.
The postgraduate certificate provides a further 60 credits, which corresponds to around 600 hours of work. This typically includes 60 hours of lectures and workshops (attendance is mandatory), and a further estimated 540 hours for self-study, clinical placement activities, reading, and completion of assessments.
