Careers

Careers and Employability forms a crucial part of departmental education and training. We regularly invite professionals working in a range of industries to talk to current students throughout the academic year, and host semi-regular alumni networking events, connecting current students with past graduates who are now working across diverse fields such as media and arts education, film curation, film and media production and/or distribution, journalism etc. Many of our graduates also go on to pursue research in film and visual culture at the MPhil/PhD level, often at top-tier universities in the US, UK, and elsewhere.

The flexibility of the programme, particularly the freedom to shape essay topics, allowed me to engage with cinema in a more personal and intellectually rewarding way. My experience studying at KCL and engaging with London’s vibrant repertory cinema culture has had a lasting impact on my approach to film programming at KOFA.

Finding a film community in London and internationally, thanks to many of the connections I made at King’s, was an integral part of expanding my thinking and developing my onward career journey.
