What does culture mean to you? In today’s increasingly diverse and interconnected world, it’s vital to understand how global cultures are defined, and how they differ, interrelate and coexist. It’s never been more important to question our own perception of culture and how we can facilitate positive change in both our lives and workplaces. Our online Global Cultures Master’s, Postgraduate Diploma and Postgraduate Certificate have been designed in response to the increasing need for understanding global cultures, both professionally and personally. Through studying this course, you’ll develop the skills to reflect, articulate and communicate effectively across markers of cultural difference. You'll become better global citizens as well as enhancing your workplace skills and leadership capabilities. A combination of theory, practice and research will equip you with a deep knowledge of contemporary challenges, such as race, gender, language and migration. You’ll be able to put theory into practice as you utilise new skills for real-world contexts, including inclusion and communication.

Key benefits

  • Global Cultures is the first fully online course of its kind.
  • The programme covers key cultural concepts and practices in combination with research.
  • Modules on gender, race, migration and language are designed in connection with modules on diversity & inclusion; creative leadership; global communication; and integration of knowledge.

  • An optional ‘Study Skills’ module is available to assist those who’ve been out of education for some time.
  • Study 100% online from anywhere in the world.

Current workforce reports have pointed to a soft skills gap in today’s workforce. They suggest that the relevant skills of the future will require a human element and, therefore, cannot be learnt by machines. These skills include critical thinking, empathy, creativity and leadership, which you can develop during this course.

Through understanding aspects of global cultures, you’ll develop highly transferable skills, which will benefit any career option within any sector. It’s particularly beneficial if:

  • You wish to go onto further research in global cultures.
