Teaching methods - what to expect

Lectures
Workshops

Teaching on the course is delivered through a combination of lectures and workshops.

The standard format for workshops for all modules is 2-hour small group workshop session. Such sessions will be delivered using a blended pedagogical approach, including our bespoke problem-based learning model and other interactive activities, such as group discussions and student presentations.

We will use a delivery method that will ensure students have a rich, exciting experience from the start. Face-to-face teaching will be complemented and supported by innovative technology so that students also experience elements of digital learning and assessment.

There will also be other optional activities available to students; for example, careers masterclasses focusing on future employability, extra-curricular modules, and legal research seminars in disciplines drawing on the expertise of the legal research centres at King’s, providing students with a variety of interactive experiences that will enhance understanding of and give insights into law and legal practice.

In addition, students will spend self-directed time working in ‘law firm’ teams to address simulated client applications and problems.

Typically, one credit equates to 10 hours of work.

Assessment

  • Exams
  • Presentations
  • Portfolios

Your performance will be assessed through a combination of assessment methods. Forms of assessment may typically include coursework, in-person examinations, presentations, reflective portfolios, interviews, drafting legal documents and practical legal research.
