Modules
Required modules
Courses are divided into modules. Over the course of your study, you will take modules totaling 180 credits.
You are required to take the following modules:
- Basic Mental Health (30 credits)
- Dissertation - Mental Health Studies (60 credits)
Please note that most optional modules operate a cap. We will ask you to indicate an alternative choice for each of your module selections. There is a very high chance that you will be allocated to your top/first module choices, but this cannot be guaranteed.
Optional modules
Your 60 credits in optional modules must include:
A 30-credit module from Mental Health cluster 1:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) (30 credits)
- Psychological Therapies (30 credits)
- Clinical Pathways: Assessment & Lived Experience (30 credits)
A 30-credit module from Mental Health cluster 2:
- Social and Community Mental Health (30 credits)
- Women’s Mental Health (30 credits)
- Disaster Response: Mental Health, Behaviour & Communication (30 credits)
A 15-credit module in Statistics (term 1)
- Introduction to Statistics (15 credits)
- Statistics for Mental Health Research I (15 credits)
A 15-credit module in Statistics or Research Methods (term 2)
- Statistics for Mental Health Research II (15 credits)
- Qualitative Research Methods (15 credits)
- Systematic Reviews in Mental Health (15 credits)
- Big Data in Mental Health Research (15 credits)

Our course is primarily taught at the King’s College London Denmark Hill Campus.
