Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Religious Education) PGCE

Loading...

The PGCE Religious Education at King’s is set in the heart of London and trainees benefit from access to a wide variety of places of worship and museums, including the National Gallery. King’s works in close partnership with schools across London in designing, delivering and assessing the course. You will have the opportunity to work with tutors who are actively engaged in research, and you will be encouraged yourself to engage critically with educational pedagogy, policy and practice.

Key benefits

  • An Ofsted Outstanding rated course that is designed around a strong research and pastoral base to provide you with the skills you need to thrive as a teacher. In the last research assessment exercise, the department was rated as the leading education institution for research in London (REF, 2021).
  • A working partnership with a broad range of up to 150 schools in London and beyond, offering unique opportunities to learn how to teach a diverse mix of students.
  • At the conclusion of their PGCE course in July 2022, 91% of Religious Education trainees had been employed as ECTs at schools in the UK and abroad.
  • Two assessed pieces of coursework give you 60 Master’s-level credits – a third of an MA – which puts you well on the way to a Master’s degree in your chosen profession.
