This is where your journey as a King's Social Science & Public Policy student starts.

Join the 2,000+ postgraduate students we look forward to welcoming to the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy at King’s College London in September.

You’ll be part of a vibrant, global community—over 8,000 SSPP students from more than 130 countries—and when you graduate, you’ll join an influential alumni network making a difference around the world.

Hear more from Professor Linda McKie, Executive Dean, Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy below.

By choosing King’s, you’re stepping into a world-class university in the very heart of a thriving, global city. London has been named the world’s best student city (QS World University Rankings 2025) and you’ll be studying just minutes from landmarks like the Houses of Parliament and the city’s incredible museums and galleries.

We have world leading expertise across the social science disciplines, with recognised strengths in security studies, global health; political economy; social risk and resilience; education and social justice

Within the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy, our academics are not only leading researchers—they’re also advising governments, shaping public debate, and bringing real-world insights straight into the classroom. We’ll empower you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to take on the global challenges of today and tomorrow.

A postgraduate degree within the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy will allow you to seek solutions to important issues around the world today such as global security, climate change and the energy crisis. We have an open and inclusive research culture which stimulates conversation between contesting theories, approaches and ideologies, and which brings together faculty students in a collaborative and supportive atmosphere.

Your course will provide you with the skills, knowledge and confidence to pursue a wide range of careers in the private, public or voluntary sectors and 92% of SSPP graduates who had completed a postgraduate taught course were in work, further study or a combination of these 15 months after graduation (HESA Graduate Outcomes Survey 2021-22).

But your journey here isn’t just academic. From the moment you arrive, you’ll have support every step of the way: a dedicated academic tutor, wellbeing advisors, 24/7 confidential help, and practical resources like financial and career advice.
