In this specially curated series of webinars, tutorials and discussions, the Banking and Finance group will introduce our Programmes, and several world-class academics and practitioners who teach on the postgraduate Finance related Programmes at King’s Business School.
As an offer holder, you will learn about our research, its relevance to the finance world and, not last, its impact on your employability. There will be discussions on a range of topical current issues, and you will have the opportunity to contribute to the debate by discussing these subjects directly with the Banking and Finance staff.
This series consists of six sessions, and they will run fortnightly from 30 April according to the schedule below. You are welcome to join as many of the sessions as you wish.
Professor Leone Leonida, Professor of Finance and Economics at King’s Business School, will introduce some of the concepts and techniques that the our postgraduate Programmes explore. These 101 sessions will highlight the subjects and the issues currently facing the finance, and economics and banking industries. These will be accompanied by round tables where you can interact and discuss these topics with our world lead academics and practitioners and presents our Programmes in details.
There will also be some career-focused sessions which introduce the UK and international employment markets, insights on what good applications look like, and advice to help you prepare yourself to participate with these recruitment processes. These sessions will introduce the KBS careers team and discuss the many careers resources available to students across King’s.
You will also learn about the KBS Student Investment Fund, which enables finance students to make real investments with real funds based on the expertise they develop during their studies, and the Finance Trading Programme, that builds your skill trough extensive Bloomberg training. There will also be sessions that introduce some of the financial software packages that our Programmes use to support student’s learning, including MatLab, Python and STATA . These activities and Programmes are freely available to all our students during their studies.
