Sarah West (she/her)

• Social Mobility and Widening Participation Manager
• Provides programme direction of initiatives including King’s Plus, WP Champions, and community organising programmes such as Parent Power, Empoderando Familias, and Empower ESOL. Has strategic oversight of internal and external communications and holds responsibility for specific internal and external stakeholders and partners.

• Leads Year 7 of the King’s Scholars programme, delivers on the wider King’s Scholars programme, leads the United Learning Sixth Form Conference and Pre-16 Ambassador Training.

• Supports Black and Gypsy, Roma and Traveller young people to access university. Lead for: the K+ Aspire Network, the Student Ambassador programme and King’s Advocate Award.

• Leads the King's Scholars programme in year 8 and the United Learning Teacher CPD conference, the King’s Scholars Parental Engagement Programme, as well as our work in Hastings.

• Leads the King's Scholars programme in Year 9. Leads on Scholars+, an attainment raising programme for years 10 and 11. Scholars+ is lead by Patricia Mbangui this year.

• Responsible for operational delivery and development of the Year 12 K+ programme. Oversees recruitment and selection of new K+ cohorts and leads work on the Law, Arts & Humanities, Social Science & Public Policy, and Business & Economics K+ subject streams.

• Leads the outreach programme focused on engaging widening participation students in Kent. Responsible for the operational development and delivery of Pride Power, an LGBTQ+ network for students enrolled on the K+ programme. Oversees online content creation and communications for the Social Mobility and Widening Participation team.

Shakeela Simpson-Watson (she/her)

• Supports young people from care-experienced, estranged, forced migrant and carer backgrounds to access university. Delivers transition events, creates application guidance and works across the department to Priority Groups access and benefit from our programmes.

• Responsible for facilitating and developing community-based initiatives in collaboration with South London Citizens, including our Parent Power programme in South London including Empoderando Familias, a specific Spanish-speaking community group, and EmpowerESOL. Aniqa Rob (she/her)

• Responsible for managing the administrative support needed to deliver events with the department’s key partners, including The Brilliant Club, IntoUniversity, The Elephant Group and The Armitage Foundation. Leads the delivery of the KS4-5 MedSoc programme and school communications. Supports the organisation and delivery across Outreach for Medicine and Dentistry programmes and our internal WP Champions community for King’s staff.
