Our Chemistry graduates are in high demand because employers recognise the wide range of skills that they possess. We aim to train graduates for flexible, future-focused careers, able to harness the power of chemistry and turn their transferable skills to a range of complex and ever changing global and national challenges.
Our alumni can be found in a range of sectors including research, management, finance, medicine, tech, pharmaceuticals, and law. This includes roles as consultants, accountants, research scientists, analysts, environmental chemists, and software engineers for companies including AstraZeneca, KPMG, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, and the NHS.
The Careers Service and the Department of Chemistry run a specifically tailored careers programme for Engineering students, which includes skills sessions and visits from leading employers.
