Teaching & Modules
Teaching methods - what to expect
We have a strong tradition of excellence in teaching, with consistently high student satisfaction ratings for Law in the National Student Survey. All required modules are taught through lectures and small group tutorials and seminars. These tutorials and seminars will give you the opportunity to apply the general legal principles you have learnt to specific problems and allow you to engage with our academics and explore issues in depth. Students on this programme will also undertake Introduction to Australian Law modules during their first two years at King’s in order to prepare for their JD studies. These modules will also compare the differences and similarities of the two jurisdictions.
At King’s, all students on a taught programme are allocated a personal tutor who will play a key role in helping you to get the most out of your studies, providing support and during your studies.
Personal tutors provide you with the opportunity to periodically take stock of your learning, academic progress and general wellbeing as you progress through your studies, offering guidance on how to seek further support if you need it, and how to access the range of opportunities available to you as a King's student.
Typically, one credit equates to 10 hours of work.
