Assessment methods depend on the modules you will be studying. The primary methods of assessment for this course are through written coursework (e.g. essays, research reports, blogs, funding proposals, critical reviews, infographics), oral and pre-recorded presentations (both individual, group and poster presentations), examinations, and practical assessments (e.g. labwork). The study time and assessment methods typically give an indication of what to expect. However, these may vary depending on the modules.

Year
Courses are divided into modules. You will normally take modules totalling 120 credits each academic year.
Required Modules
You are required to take the following modules:
- Psychology and the Brain (15 credits)
- Psychology and Development (15 credits)
- Psychology and the Individual (15 credits)
- Psychology and Society (15 credits)
- Brain Form and Function (15 credits)
- The Making of a Brain (15 credits)
- Research Methods & Statistics with R 1 (15 credits)
- Research Methods & Statistics with R 2 (15 credits)
Optional Modules
In addition, students may also choose to take:
- Graduate Skills: Learning and Coping
This optional module provides a good opportunity to develop skills that will help you in your academic studies and after you leave university. It does not count towards your degree, but you will receive formal recognition on your University Transcript if you complete it.
