Empowering our students to shape a more sustainable future.
We are proud to offer award-winning Carbon Literacy Training to our students and staff, accredited by the Carbon Literacy Project.
Structured as interactive and discussion-based sessions, the training covers the science and impacts of climate change, as well as specific actions we can implement to reduce emissions. Participants will be guided to make two pledges aimed at reducing emissions individually as well as collectively.
Participants can become certified as Carbon Literate upon completion of the course, by submitting evidence in the form of two carbon-reducing pledges to the Carbon Literacy Project.
The training takes seven hours to complete, and is usually offered through face-to-face sessions over two half-days.

“Carbon Literacy Training is a really well-designed course that helps to inform us about carbon and bridge the gap between the theory and practical changes we can all make in our everyday lives to help reduce our carbon footprints.”
The next Carbon Literacy Training for Staff Sustainability champions will take place on 30 June and 7 July 2026.
