  • Our Festival Masterclasses are educational workshops talking about exciting careers topics across multiple industries and are hosted by real business representatives.

You’ll get to understand your chosen industries deeper and learn more about the realities of changing businesses and sectors during the aftermath of COVID-19.

You’ll also develop knowledge around the different skills, attributes and experiences needed to get your foot in the door and understand what the world of work is really like – perfect to develop commercial awareness and build your employability.

Festival Masterclasses bring you content such as employer case studies, business game workshops, guest lectures and keynote speeches as well as interactive "how-to" workshops. They are designed to challenge students in a positive way and help you towards an even greater understanding of their chosen industries.

By attending our Spotlight on Inclusion Breakfasts, you’ll have the opportunity to meet other King's students as well as employers across a range of interesting sectors.

These virtual events are designed to shed light on positive diversity initiatives that different organisations continue to develop and spread awareness about how they help to break barriers and enhance access to the workplace for underrepresented and diverse groups.

These virtual events take place on Wednesdays throughout the autumn term, where we encourage participants to break from their studies, grab a coffee and engage in an informal discussion with recruiters, alumni and organisation representatives.

Attendance will be prioritised for individuals enrolled in our Careers+ programme for underrepresented students.

Each event places the spotlight on a different industry sector, aligned with our wider Focused Festivals which will run throughout the 2020-21 academic year.

When we're back on campus, some employers choose to undertake engaging promotional activity to help you understand their organisation and the roles available.

Along the way they will often entice you with interactive games, quizzes, competitions or giveaways including free coffee, popcorn or their products.

We work with organisations to develop new promotions throughout the year, but it's likely that many initiatives will occur later in the academic year.
