  • Our Employer Masterclasses are educational workshops discussing exciting innovations and trends across multiple industries, hosted by real business representatives.

They are designed to challenge you in a positive way and help you towards an even greater understanding of your chosen industries.

You’ll get to understand your chosen industries deeper, focusing more on the realities of changing businesses and sectors as we exit the pandemic and other challenges, developing your commercial awareness.

You’ll also develop knowledge around the different skills, attributes and experiences needed to stand out and understand what the world of work is really like.

Events take place both virtually and on-campus at different times of the week to ensure that all students regardless of timetables and schedules have the chance to attend.

    Employer Masterclasses may include:

  • employer case studies,
  • business game workshops,
  • guest lectures and keynote speeches,

  • Understand organisational culture, the roles available and the recruitment processes you’ll need to undertake.

Throughout the year, our employer-led presentations and webinars are here to help you build success.

Delivered by industry professionals and business representatives, these events consist of company presentations, virtual open days, diversity events, business games and skills workshops.

Many events will also be run by employers themselves, and we advertise a range of off-campus and virtual presentations across a range of sectors.

Discover the reality of work in a range of sectors, hear from industry professionals and alumni about their lived experiences, roles and gather in-depth knowledge to assist your career search. Held virtually across the year, Discover Careers in... panels are a fantastic opportunity to discover the range of sectors and opportunities available to you - from political risk to publishing, artificial intelligence to international relations.

Each event comprises a panel of experts who will share their own career stories, tips and information on their sector, including their commitment to diversity and sustainability, followed by an opportunity to ask questions.

You can choose to attend any event of interest to you or the entire series, and we have also aligned this year's events with their accompanying Festivals, so you can find those related to a particular industry sector easily.

Our Spotlight on Inclusion events across the year shine a spotlight on the lived experiences of individuals from Black, Asian and Diverse Heritage backgrounds, aspects of gender equity and disability and LGBTQ+ inclusion in the workplace.

They are designed as safe spaces, welcoming all students regardless of your background – allowing you to broaden your understanding of these key issues and structural inequalities and become an ally to others.

Alongside placing the spotlight on diversity initiatives that different organisations continue to develop, we hope events will open up doors into sectors you may never have considered, break down barriers and enhance access to the workplace for groups under-represented in the workplace.

Events take different forms – from panels to speed meets and guest lectures and are held at different times to enable as many students as possible to benefit from the experience.
