King’s Careers & Employability offers a range of tailored support for international students and recent graduates at every stage of their career journey.

We support international students in finding part-time work, gaining experience through internships and work experience, and applying for graduate roles or further study. Our team also provides guidance on exploring career opportunities both in the UK and internationally.

Specific event programmes exist for critical markets, including Careers in China and Careers in India, details of which can be found at the bottom of this page.

Navigating UK visa and immigration

The King’s Careers & Employability team is not qualified to provide extensive guidance on visas or your eligibility to work in the UK. 

Due to the evolving nature of regulations regarding employment for international students, it's essential to review the specifics of your visa to determine permissible work activities.

We often hold joint webinars with specialists from leading immigration law firms or our international student advice team - check on King's CareerConnect for upcoming sessions.

  • We often host international employers for presentations from markets including  Brussels, China & Hong Kong, Malaysia and the UAE who are recruiting for roles in their organisations.

Careers in China

Our Careers in China programme is a long-established programme of events, digital content and opportunities for students interested in pursuing their next steps in mainland China or Hong Kong SAR. You can access employer presentations, alumni panels, workshops on the Chinese labour market, work-related learning opportunities and find connections to various employers and jobs boards focused on the market. Each August, we also hold events in market alongside other partner universities giving current students, recent alumni and offer holders the opportunity to expand their network and meet employers face-to-face who are hiring in key cities.

Careers in India

Our Careers in India programme is a developing strand of activity comprising events, digital content and opportunities for students interested in pursuing their next steps across key Indian cities. You can access our Explore Careers in India digital pathway, employer presentations, alumni panels, workshops on the Indian labour market and find connections to various employers and jobs boards focused on the market. Each spring, we also collaborate with our partners at Student Circus to host a virtual careers fair giving current students and recent alumni the opportunity to expand their network and meet employers face-to-face who are hiring in key cities.
