The Department of War Studies is pleased to invite you to the book launch of "Abiding Influence: Presidents, Nationalist Beliefs, and US Policy in the Asia Pacific, 1898–1972".

Dr Giuseppe Paparella’s first monograph, published with Stanford University Press for their Studies in Asian Security series, examines key moments between 1898 and 1972 to show how four very different presidents' national beliefs, in combination with crises and changes within the region, shaped their policy toward the Asia Pacific region, making the Asia Pacific crucial to contemporary US policymaking.
