The British Association for Literacy in Development (BALID) has organised this free day-conference in honour of their late President, Brian Street.

This is an opportunity for literacy practitioners and academics to share expertise and experience in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals and literacy. The day will offer an opportunity for small-group discussion as well as a plenary forum. Lunch at £10 per head will be available to pre-order. Once you have registered on Eventbrite, you will be emailed with lunch options.

The conference will be followed by the BALID AGM at 16.15, and a 17.00 reception to which all are invited. For updates about the programme, check the BALID website. The guest speaker is Professor David Bloome of Ohio State University.

The event is hosted by the Centre for Language, Discourse & Communication with the help of Professor Constant Leung and Professor Anna Robinson-Pant, UNESCO Chair in adult literacy and learning for social transformation at UEA.
