One of Italy’s great strengths lays in its diversity, which is often celebrated and reflected throughout the films that Italians watch and make. Indeed, diversity within the Italian film industry has been a hot topic in the past years. Both famous directors and cinema stars stated that more needs to be done, to ensure that the diverse spectrum of the human experience is fairly represented on films and elsewhere, and that the need for parity in all areas of the industry is finally acknowledged and actioned.

In this workshop we will be using an Italian popular film to encourage discussion and awareness of issues surrounding diversity, focusing primarily on five different elements: family, gender, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status.

Suitable for: PGO Beginners, PGO Intermediate, LAHP Beginner, LAHP Intermediate, LAHP Advanced.
