This seminar in the Learning Disability Services Series is being led by Becky Anderson (a researcher without a learning disability) and Leon Jordan (a researcher with a learning disability) who will talk about the Victoria and Stuart Project.

Their project aims to co-design a toolkit of approaches and resources for end-of-life care planning with people with learning disabilities within social care settings.

They will talk about the inclusive methods they have used during focus group with people with learning disabilities. They will also discuss their experiences of being part of a team of researchers with and without learning disabilities at Kingston University.

Presenters

Dr Becky Anderson

Becky Anderson, Research Associate, Kingston University: Becky is a qualitative health researcher. Her research focuses on decision-making for people with learning disabilities and their families, healthcare communication, and end-of-life care. She is a co-principal investigator on the Victoria and Stuart project.

Leon Jordan

Leon Jordan, Research Assistant, Kingston University: Leon, who has a learning disability, is a researcher on the Victoria and Stuart Project. He will be involved in all parts of the project, including designing and running focus groups, analysing data, and running co-design groups. Leon is also a writer. He writes poems, songs, stories and life quotes.
