Gender inequality is embedded in societies – and in some places is even inscribed in law. It is therefore unrealistic to assume companies can resolve this challenge in isolation. Government action is needed to support meaningful and sustained change.

Join our event to hear more about the obstacles women continue to face in the workplace and, importantly, data-driven insights into the way that meaningful change can take place and the policy levers that are available to governments to help accelerate change and ensure women of all backgrounds can access the same opportunities and resources as men.

The session will draw on findings from two recent major reports: Policies for Change: Government Levers for Enabling Workplace Gender Equality, produced by GIWL with the support of Deloitte, and Deloitte’s 2023 Women @ Work: A Global Outlook report.

  • Julia Gillard, Former Prime Minister of Australia and GIWL Chair
  • Emma Codd, Global Inclusion Leader, Deloitte
  • Sophie Sutherland, Global Communications and Marketing Director, Social Progress Imperative (chair)
