Are you a PGR student interested in learning how games can be used for research?
Do you care about creative ways to communicate research to the general public?
Do you wish doing a PhD involved more sellotape and glitter?
Join us for the King's Green Games Jam!
Following up on our successful event in 2025, we're excited to run the Green Games Jam for a second time in February 2026 -- funded again by the SSPP Networking Grant. It will be a free in-person day-long game jam to bring together PGR students from diverse academic backgrounds to create various types of games on the topic of nature and sustainability.
Any kind of game is on the cards (no pun intended): video games, board games, role-playing games, and whatever else you can think of. Since the focus of the event is on learning and networking, you do not need any prior skills before coming to the game jam -- all are welcome!
Most of the day will be spent making our own games, alongside talks from academics who have used games in their research. We will end with prizes and a social for anyone interested in networking more.
