Harm Reduction in women’s homelessness services

14JanA bench with a person's belongings on and about itPart of Homelessness series

This event will share and discuss the results of an evaluation looking at a women's homelessness accommodation service in Glasgow which is using a harm reduction and a 'high tolerance' approach. Harm reduction is a range of practices to support people who use substances which focuses on reducing the harms they experience, for instance by providing clean injecting equipment and nalaxone kits. Hannah will outline the approach and the perceived impact both for staff and for women.

Hannah Piggott is a Research Fellow in the Policy Institute at King’s College London. Her research focuses on policies to support people experiencing homelessness. She leads several projects on homelessness including two for the Centre for Homelessness Impact.
