Gender pay gap reporting has shone a light on how women are missing out at work relative to their male peers – and it shows more needs to be done. Globally, women on average still earn less than 80% of what men earn each month.

Reporting systems plays a crucial part in getting employers to act on gender pay inequality, but many are failing to get results. What can be done to fix them?

Ahead of the Generation Equality Forum, join GIWL to explore findings from a new report, supported by the UN Foundation and based on more than 80 interviews with key stakeholders in six countries, which looks at how gender pay gap reporting can best work for women.

Panel:

  • Julia Gillard, former Prime Minister of Australia and Chair of the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership (chair)

  • Shauna Olney, Former Chief of the International Labour Organisation’s Gender, Equality and Diversity Branch

  • Kieran Pender, Australian writer, lawyer and GIWL Advisory Council member

  • Sharon Kimathi, Inclusive Economies Editor, Thomson Reuters Foundation

  • Sam Mostyn, President, Chief Executive Women (Australia)
