This two-day, hands-on workshop will cover the Unix shell, version control with Git, and some concepts and tools in R, including program design, data management, and task automation. Participants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply what they have learned to their own research problems.

Who: The course is primarily aimed at postdocs and PIs in the Health Faculties who have little or no experience with R. However, staff from other Faculties may also apply.

Where: Strand Campus, Bush House (SE), Rm 2.09

When: 16-17th December 2019, 09:00-17:00.

Cost: £35

Applications: Please apply via eStore here. You will be asked to answer questions about your level of R expertise and reasons for wanting to participate in the workshop. If demand exceeds the number of places available, preference will be given to those with the greatest need and a waiting list will operate. If your application is not successful you will be refunded.

Closing date for applications is 5pm, 27th November 2019. Applicants will be notified by 6th December if they have a place or are on the waiting list. We hope to accommodate as many people as possible and plan further Carpentries workshops in the future, including ones tailored to Faculties other than Health.
