About the Workshop

The rationale of this workshop is to foster collaboration among public policy scholars at King’s and in the UK more generally. It will support cross-fertilisation between disciplines, such as public policy, political economy and comparative politics. This workshop will be central in highlighting the Department of Political Economy (DPE)’s profile in high quality research in public policy. It will be comprised of scholars working on public policy and regulation at King’s, involving other scholars in the UK, and attracting international interest from the involvement of high-profile scholars and invited speakers. The unique character of the workshop will be the pre-circulation of written papers and then the provision of detailed comments by discussants, with the aim of improving papers and ensuring their appearance in top-quality journals. The idea is that the workshop will become a regular annual event, with a call for papers, and a rigorous selection process, which will heighten the interest by the academic community in work done at King’s and its environs.
