Violence against women is a problematic that's been present all around the world for many years affecting hundreds of lives and families in different ways. In addition, the migratory status of women affected by this type of violence increases their vulnerability to suffer gender-based violence.

In this conference, we are going to talk about how this phenomenon has affected women coming form Latin-American countries located in the United Kingdom, focusing on the different options and instruments they have to face and come out of gender-based violence context.

Daniela Romero

Daniela Montserrat Romero Moreno is from Mexico City, she is a graduate of the Law School of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), she held the Telmex Telcel Foundation scholarship through the “Corriendo por la Educación” program, she was also a scholarship holder of the Centennial Generation Academic Excellence program awarded by the National Supreme Court of Justice, Fundación UNAM and the UNAM Faculty of Law.

Additionally, she was an intern in the National Supreme Court of Justice. This conference presents the results of the research she completed at the Center for Mexican Studies-UNAM UK, under the program PITAAE (Programa de Impulso a la Titulación por Actividades Académicas en el Extranjero) by initiative of UNAM's Office for International Cooperation (DGECI).
