The pandemic changed how so many of us work, and Londoners have been at the forefront of this shift.

Hybrid working – where people split their week between the office and home – has been embraced by Londoners at higher rates than the rest of the UK.

But what are its broader implications? From demand for the transport network, to the market for office space and the services sector in centre of the city, changes in commuting patterns will have far-reaching consequences for the capital.

And while it’s clearly popular, what is it people really value with this new approach to work? Are there winners and losers? And is hybrid here to stay?

In this joint event we will explore these questions and more, as Central London Forward reveal findings from new research by Arup, and the Policy Institute and King’s Business School will present new research from their Work/Place: London returning project.
