Did you know that drawing lowers your heart rate? Dancing and singing reduce stress? Crafting increases your ability to focus?

Make Do Play is an annual programme which encourages staff and students in #KingsCulturalCommunity to take part in creative activities for their wellbeing. For the 2020/21 academic year the activity is entirely virtual, providing opportunities and inspiration for you to take a creative break during your week wherever you are in the world.

Activities

The programme consists of three key types of activity happening on a weekly basis:

  • Creative Workshops: These fun interactive 1-hour sessions will each be led by an amazing artist or creative partner. Each week you will be able to take part in a different creative activity, learn something new and get to know other students.
  • Weekly Prompts: Every week during term-time a creative prompt is shared via social media or directly into your inbox, giving you inspiration for your weekly creative activities. Explore the past prompt archive for inspiration and sign up to the mailing list to receive future prompts.
  • Create and Chill – drop-in coffee mornings: Share what you are working on and have a cuppa- this is a space for you to drop-in to chat about all things creative. You can choose to use this as your time to do the weekly prompts, bring your own creative projects, or just come along for a chat.

Make Do Play is designed for students and staff of all abilities, and activities will not need any specialist equipment beyond regular household items.
