In 2020, Dame Sharon White became the first-ever woman to become chair of John Lewis & Partners, the largest employee-owned business in the UK, and in 2022 she was named the UK’s most influential black person by a panel of judges for the Powerlist award. She was the first woman to lead the UK’s media regulator, Ofcom, and was only the second woman to be appointed as Second Permanent Secretary at the Treasury.

In the week of International Women’s Day, join us to hear about Sharon’s career journey and her views on how to work towards greater gender equality in the workplace and beyond.

Joining her in conversation are Julia Gillard, GIWL Chair and former Prime Minister of Australia, and Kelly Beaver MBE, the first female Chief Executive of Ipsos in the UK and Ireland, who will share findings from a new survey looking at global attitudes to gender equality and what people can do to accelerate progress.

Please note this is a live stream event which will be available to view online.
