In 2024, King’s College London and Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust agreed a new high profile partnership with the PD Hinduja Hospital and the Hinduja Foundation to create the Hinduja-King’s Health Partners Academy.
About The Role
The Senior Engagement Manager will work very closely with internal and external stakeholders to manage all components of this complex project, monitoring and reporting on progress, and controlling budgets in adherence to contractual and philanthropic conditions.
The new Academy delivers clinical and non-clinical training courses and build research capacity and executive education for health professionals within India. A philanthropic donation enables health engineering research and clinical innovation through PhD and Masters scholarships for students from India in biomedical engineering.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual with experience of managing and administering philanthropic and education projects across multiple stakeholders to programme manage the Hinduja-King’s Health Partners Academy. Knowledge of academic programme structures and experience of managing budgets are essential.
This is a full time post and you will be offered a fixed term contract for four years.
About You
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- Experience of successful operational management of complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, ideally including education and/or philanthropic project experience.
- Evidence of building partnerships with tact, diplomacy and the ability to build strong working relationships in order to drive effective outcomes.
- Experience of effective hands-on relationship management gained in a multi-stakeholder environment, such as a large Higher Education, NHS, or Civil Service organisation, and comfortable with working in a highly responsive way to immediate demands from stakeholders.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to adapt message, style and manner to specific audiences and stakeholders.
- Understanding of the UK and international health care landscape relevant to the work of the partnership.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to generate actionable insights from complex data sets, manage and monitor budgets, and apply robust contract management practices including drafting, reporting, and invoicing.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective programme or project monitoring and reporting systems, independently resolve project issues, and maintain accurate and up-to-date risk registers.
- Experience with academic programme structures and university operations.
Desirable criteria
- Experience working in international partnerships, especially in healthcare or education.
- Understanding and experience of doing business with India-based individuals and organisations.
- Ability to speak conversational Hindi (Marathi and Gujarati an additional advantage).
- Experience of – and comfort with – working with high net-worth individuals and their teams.
- Familiarity with stewardship planning and engagement.
