The Researcher will be required to map the market, update our candidate database (Invenias), approach prospective candidates and produce high quality reporting and paperwork for our client base. As a Researcher you will be expected to develop a broad range of knowledge across multiple academic disciplines (including King’s Health Partners) so that we can attract top talent and provide insight, advice, and expertise to candidates and our client groups. Understanding the market and talent attraction strategies is fundamental to producing the best possible outcomes at interview and is the backbone to the success of every assignment. Everyone in the team is responsible for delivering the highest quality service to our clients, candidates, and to represent King’s externally to the highest standards. As a small team, we work closely together, supporting one another and getting involved in all aspects of an assignment. As an in-house team we take on more administration than an external provider, and all members of the team are expected to help with administration and logistics.
• Conduct extensive and creative market mapping through desk-based research and obtaining referrals on potential candidates through sourcing. • Identify target universities and organisations, possible candidates, and demonstrate candidate relevance to a search. • Build an appreciation and understanding of activity across King's in the field of Artificial Intelligence, including who the key stakeholders and clients are. • Join briefings and other relevant meetings with clients and stakeholders to understand and record the needs, requirements, and expectations of the role. • Produce high-quality written work that is accurate, detailed, and timely such as create, update, and distribute search reports. • Work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver multiple assignments across several different disciplines and faculties at the same time. • Provide administrative support outside of assignments to facilitate team projects and knowledge sharing, such as GDPR compliance, and diversity and inclusion initiatives. • Take ownership for updating the candidate database (Invenias) and HR systems at every stage of the process. • Work collaboratively with the broader HR team to ensure we are compliant with policy changes and legal requirements (e.g. work visas) • Contribute to team meetings and discussions with ideas that will improve the efficiency and quality of the search process. • Keep aware of trends and news in the field of Artificial Intelligence in order to build understanding and credibility in the discipline.
• Have completed A Levels or equivalent, and an undergraduate degree. • Have experience of working within executive search, recruitment, or an inhouse talent team. • Demonstrate strong computer skills including MS Office applications. The postholder will ideally bring experience of using integrated candidate databases (for example Invenias, or a similar hiring database). • Bring excellent research/mapping skills with a good understanding of how to present findings to clients. • Have excellent administration skills, attention to detail, and a methodical approach to accurately recording information. • Be able to effectively prioritise multiple projects and deadlines in tight timescales. • Be flexible and able to adapt and cope with shifting priorities, timelines, and uncertainty. • Proactive and willing to take on new tasks and actively ask for and offer support where needed. • Have experience of dealing with people at all levels of an organisation, receiving and providing complex, confidential, and sensitive information in both verbal and written formats. • Have excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills.
• Maintain a broad knowledge of trends and changes across King's and the higher education sector. • Have an interest and affinity to higher education and the full spectrum of King’s academic disciplines. • Have a good understanding of the requirements of GDPR compliance.

King's Vision builds upon our history of service to society and takes us to our 200th anniversary in 2029
The King’s Search Team was set up in 2017 with the aim of supporting senior academic and professional services recruitment. As the first permanent executive search team to be established in a UK university, we are a distinctive and innovative offering in higher education. We are a small and specialist team (team of 10), with a broad cross section of recruitment and executive search experience. Embedded within the HR Department, we are uniquely positioned to help King's to attract the most influential, diverse, and dynamic leaders from across the globe. We have established strong working relationships with King’s senior leaders and have invested significant time in understanding the cultural and structural differences between each faculty and directorate. Each search presents a learning curve and continues to provide an opportunity to evolve and adapt our processes. We combine external executive search experience with existing internal process and expectation, and we understand the importance of flexibility and agility in achieving successful outcomes. Equality, Diversity & Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do, and it is our mission to diversify our talent pools and to support King’s in its strategic ambitions and targets. As the executive search team of choice for the university, we are committed to executing an open, transparent process and to help foster an inclusive environment that allow individuals to flourish. We have worked extensively with the leadership team on our joint ambitions to achieve greater parity, and make this a priority in all stages of the hiring process. As the only full service in-house executive search team within a UK university, we are a unique offering and have an exciting opportunity to raise the bar and to be the gold standard not only for King’s, but across UK higher education and beyond.
