Kathryn obtained her BSc in Immunology from the University of Glasgow, which included an honours research project looking at inflammatory macrophage gene expression in rheumatoid arthritis. From 2010-2014, she studied for her PhD at the Arthritis Research UK EU at the University of Manchester entitled “Characterisation of a susceptibility locus for Inflammatory Arthritis.” In 2014 she joined the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology at the University of Oxford as a postdoctoral research associate investigating the role of citrullinated proteins in rheumatoid arthritis before joining the Taams’ group as a research associate in March 2015. Her project is a King’s Health Partners' funded project investigating the presence of Tc17 (CD8+IL17+) cells in inflammatory arthritis.
