Thomas obtained an integrated masters in Human Genetics from the University of Nottingham, graduating in 2013. Between 2013 and 2017 he studied for his PhD entitled 'innate immune memory in fibroblasts' in the rheumatology research group at the University of Birmingham. He then continued this work as a research associate, before joining the Taams lab in April 2018. His research is a King's Together-funded interdisciplinary project examining the interaction between inflammation, pain and mental health in chronic inflamamtory disease.
