The sponsors of the Strand Group, Amazon Web Services, are offering new master’s studentships for two full-time students who wish to study British government.

The awards, to study on the Government Studies MA course in the 2024-25 academic year, are open to all UK students. Applications from students from underrepresented groups are particularly welcomed.

The Government Studies MA is the only course of its kind to focus on British government that goes beyond the theory to provide unique insights into the personalities, policies and process involved in running the British state. Students will delve into real-life case studies and hear from the people who work within government, becoming familiar with the decision-making process in the turbulent 20th and 21st centuries. Students will study a range of pioneering modules delivered in partnership with organisations like No. 10 Downing Street and HM Treasury and learn from renowned practitioners and policymakers, such as former Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls, alongside leading academics at the forefront of their fields.

More information on the eligibility criteria and application process is available on the studentship page. Please email policyinstitute-education@kcl.ac.uk for any questions.

Applications to the Government Studies MA for students remain open. Students are encouraged to apply early to secure a place on the course.
