The 12^th annual conference organised by the European Social Work Research Association was held at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, 12-14 April. Unit researcher Dr Carl Purcell delivered a presentation on 14 April titled ‘Social work with Schools: Understanding the Role, Responsibilities and Pressures faced by Designated Safeguarding Leads in English Schools’. The presentation was based on the findings of an ESRC-funded research project led by the Unit, and the book ‘Protecting and Safeguarding Children in Schools: A Multi-agency Approach’ published in July 2022.
