Future in focus as centre hosts inaugural workshop

The inaugural workshop of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence at King’s put the spotlight on the UK/EU relationship.

The workshop was held in May and saw a full house of scholars, students and policymakers gather at King’s for a day of discussion and debate.

Organised by Dr Scott James, the event featured panels on post-Brexit politics, competition policy, and finance and trade, as well as a roundtable on the prospects on the relationship over the coming years.

The Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on Next Generation EU-UK Relations was launched at King’s in 2024 and is aimed at exploring the different dimensions of the relationship between the EU and the UK. These range from diplomatic relations, to commercial, financial, defence and migration issues.
