House of Commons Education Select Committee cites Unit work

The Committee has published: 'Solving the SEND Crisis'

Houses of Parliament

The House of Commons Education Select Committee has published its report on children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Under its 2019-23 contract, the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Health and Social Care Workforce was commissioned to examine the demand for, and supply of, therapists in this sector (report by Ian Kessler and Annette Boaz published May 2024). The new House of Commons report cites this scoping study on page 131, para 287.

The Unit also contributed to the Committee's work when Prof Kessler gave evidence at the House of Commons in April 2025.
